Thursday – Monday
San Francisco Jewish Film Festival // It’s the last weekend to catch a film exploring Jewish themes and experiences at the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival. Films are showing throughout the Bay Area, including San Francisco, Berkeley, the Peninsula and Marin County. // Details: August 4-8. Check out website for screening details and costs.

Oakland Art Murmur // Spend a summer evening gallery-hopping, checking out local artists’ works, people-watching, and sipping on complementary wine at the Oakland Art Murmur. // Details: August 5, 6-9pm. Member galleries are generally located between 22nd and 26th Streets and along the Broadway/Telegraph corridors in Oakland. Cost: FREE.
Saturday
Stories from the Bay // Sit in a garden at dusk surrounded by the KALW crew and friends for an evening of fun and heartwarming storytelling. Storytellers and spoken word artists will delight you with their rumble, musicians will weave you a melody, and you will also have a chance to share your own story. Saturday Strollin Leona Canyon // Enjoy the great outdoors without having to go too far. Saturday meet up with other nature-lovers to hike along a creek and a canyon while learning about native plants. // Details: August 6, 10am-12pm. Meet at the Canyon Oaks Staging Area. Phat Beets Crop Swap // Do you have some veggies, fruits, herbs, or eggs to share from your backyard? Well, then swap your goods with other urban gardeners. Phat Beets Produces hosts crop swaps at the North Oakland Farmer’s Market every first Saturday of the month. // Details: 11am-3pm. North Oakland Farmers' Market, 57th and Market Streets, Oakland. Attaboy’s You Might Be A Monster book launch // Dip into the mind of local artist Attaboy as he reads about zombie clowns, hamster-faced children, and other inventive characters. Sunday
Vinyl Swap // Bring those old records just sitting there collecting dust and trade them with other collectors for something new to you. Join the fun at Actual Café’s first ever vinyl swap.
